Preschool and so much more...

Sarah started preschool this week and seems to LOVE it. Mommy loves it too. Her teacher says she has a long attention span for a 3 year old. Interesting. I wonder what the other kids act like. She told me they ate dog food the first day (not real dog food, mommy). The next time she went she was a little disappointed because they forgot to eat more dog food. She goes twice aweek for 2 1/2 hrs. She is the cutest little girl and she is gaining some independence from her mommy.

Ethan has started talking a bit and recognizing body parts. If you ask him where his nose is, and he sticks his finger clear up the nostril ...it's hilarious. He says peek-a-boo (too cute when he says it right when he wakes up), poo poo ( he is very stinky, so not often does he have to tell me before I know - still cute). He is a cute little boy and we can't believe how fast he is growing.

One year old wonder...

Our little baby boy just turned one on Saturday. It's hard to believe it's been a year. He is very healthy and happy and we are so glad to have him. He started walking a couple of weeks ago and says all kind of words..daddy, bye bye, dora (thanks to Sarah and the many hours they have spent watching and listening to Dora the Explorer), eat, drink, sarah, and mamamamama when he is crying. He blow bubbles and loves to spit. He is cutting his fourth tooth and likes to eat most things, including sand, dirt, sidewalk chalk. He is such a cute little guy - he resembles his daddy quite a bit.

Granny days have come and gone...

It was so nice to have Granny in town, Sarah and Ethan loved having Grandma Georgia here to play with. We are so thankful for her generosity, and her love. We are going to miss her immensely over the next few months.

The days of 'DYNASTY' are gone in the NHL.

Gone is the era of 'haves' and 'have nots', with a Salary Cap in place, the NHL has moved into a new era. No longer will teams such as the Red Wings, the Avalanche, the Rangers, dominate free agency, lock up the best players for 10-12 years, and dominate the game; gone are the days of the "fire sale" demolition of teams to save a buck. What the players feared, what cost the NHL an entire season has come to fruition. With a salary cap in place to limit the spending of the 'rich' teams in the league, you will get parity, everybody having a chance to win. Is this going to be good for the game? Only time will tell. Along with some rule changes to speed up the beloved game, the new found monetary freedoms of the small market teams should make hockey more marketable to the general masses, but for me, someone who fell in love with the game during the heyday of the Edmonton Oilers and their rivalry with the Philadelphia Flyers in their quest for Lord Stanley's Cup, I am going to miss the days when a 'minor league' team had a chance to knock off the BMOC.
I am going to miss Footy, Marty, and Peter, those are the only names that are gone so far, but more will come I am sure of it. This means I am going to have to become more of a Flyers fan, dang Ron Hextall made that hard for me 25 years ago, cause I love to watch Forsberg skate. Now more than ever do I need dish network and the NHL package, Kirk you gonna get it?

Swimming lessons...

Sarah just started swimming lessons and she is doing incredibly well. She loves it and I am so proud of her. Ethan is also taking lessons (mom and tot) class...he likes the water, but is incredibly ornery. He is definately "all boy". I will post some pictures... he is walking and talking.
